Rabbani calls for political maturity in strained conditions

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate, Mian Raza Rabbani has said that country’s political system is under strain and there is need to counter an attempt to undermine the political unity with maturity.

He hoped the political parties understood that the current political situation needed to be dealt with maturity and “underneath the fiery statements there is an understanding of keeping the system together,” said a press a press release issued here Wednesday.

Talking to the Ambassador of Spain, Carlos Cesar Morales Sanchez, who called on him at the Parliament House, he said parliamentary diplomacy plays a vital role in bilateral relations and that future ties between Pakistan and Spain should be based on these lines so the parliamentarians of both countries get more opportunities to meet.

In that respect, “I would like to extend my invitation to my counterpart in the Spanish Senado, Pio Garcia Escudero M?rquez to visit Pakistan as guest of the Senate of Pakistan.

He said the two countries need to enhance bilateral trade as there is a close historical affinity and around a hundred thousand Pakistanis live and work in Spain.
