WEB DESK: A Mumbai Court accused 12 of the 13 accused in the 2006 Mumbai Train Bombing, Al Jazeera reported.
The judge Yatin D Shinde on Friday, found them guilty of conspiracy and murder, and awarded all of them death sentence. One of the accused was acquitted of all charges.
In 2006 a series of blast ripped through a trains station in Mumbai killing 188 people and injuring over 800. Seven bombs went off within 15 minutes on the packed trains during the evening rush hour in Mumbai on July 11, 2006. The trial in the case in Mumbai lasted for more than seven years.
Indian security agencies said that the convicts planned the bombings with help from Pakistan’s Lashkar-e-Taiba group. Pakistan has denied the claims.
