ATTOCK: Valiant Captain Asfandyar Ahmad Bokhari, who aspired to get country rid of terrorism, Friday embraced martyrdom while leading his troops from the front and bravely fought terrorists who attacked Pakistan Air Force camp in Badhber, Peshawar on Friday.
He was part of the Quick Response Force which moved to the PAF base soon after the attack and continued fighting till the last attacker was killed.
Capt Asfandyar, resident of Attock, was elder son of Dr Fayyaz Bokhari. He got secondary school education from Fauji Foundation School Attock and FSC from Cadet College Hassanabdal.
He then joined the Pakistan Army and was awarded “Sword of Honour” on completion of his training at Kakul Academy in October 2008.
Talking to APP, Dr Fayyaz Bokhari said he was proud of his son, who had sacrificed his life for the motherland.
According to his friends and teachers, Capt Asfandyar wanted to join the Pakistan Army since childhood. After joining the army, he would always talk of eliminating the menace of terrorism which was a great hurdle in the country’s development.
Syed Hussain Naqvi, class fellow of Capt Asfandyar, recalled his last chat with the martyred friend, who had said,”Soon you will see Asfandyar fighting directly with terrorists and sending them to hell.” And he proved his words while fighting the attackers in Badhber, Naqvi added.
His teacher Tanzeela Ashfaq Chaudhry said Asfandyar was an intelligent, outstanding and obedient student.
His brother Shehryar Bokhari is abroad for higher education while Ehsan Bokhari is a student of MBBS.
