KARACHI: Director, Karachi Zoological Garden widely known as Karachi Zoo, Muhammad Faheem Khan has requested business tycoon and philanthropist Malik Riaz to lend a cheerful look to Karachi Zoo by doing something for it, a place which mostly remains in the limelight of children.
He said that everyone who is animal lover can come and adopt an animal like film legend Babra Sharif, who adopted one animal at Lahore Zoo.
While talking to APP, he said that Malik Riaz is not only a business tycoon but a philanthropist too who had worked for the humanity and hopefully, he would do something for these animals.
He also invited film and drama actors and actresses for adopting animals.
He said that Karachi Zoo is a historical place, visited by a large number of people, and it is more old than Lahore Zoo. He said it had almost the history of 250 years and it covers about 40 acres of land.
Fahim said that there were around 900 animals in the Zoo and all were given food on time. He said that animals were well cared of and they were healthy.
For coping with any health emergency situation we keep a stock of medicines and a doctor also look after animals to protect them from any illness, he added.
“Karachi Zoo is also an educational institute where students of universities, colleges and schools come for gaining practical experience besides their theoretical work”, he remarked.
In reply to a query he said that Bengal Tiger is very friendly animal, but these were animals and can be wild at any time and can react outright.
