WEB DESK: Fast Bowler Muhammad Amir says that currently his top priority is domestic cricket in coming months and return to international cricket is ‘premature’
Amir made a comeback in cricket this year after serving out a ban for his role in spot-fixing during Pakistan’s tour to England in 2010
Although he was not welcomed with open arms fast bowler Tanvir Ahmed said that some current players will not welcome back tainted trio.
“There are four or five Pakistan players who have clearly expressed their refusal to play alongside these three. If that is the casein the national team, then why does anyone think that the domestic players will simply welcome them with open arms?
“We should not forget that it is the domestic level which forms the basis for the national team so the opinion of domestic players must be taken into account when deciding on allowing these three players back into the fold,” Tanvir said
Amir, while talking to PakPassion.net, said “I’m not worrying over when I will play for Pakistan; instead I am just focusing on my domestic form and then leaving the rest to the selectors.”
“I have to take things step by step and not try to get ahead of myself. International cricket is a tough environment it’s not a joke. There is a lot of pressure on you in international cricket and I feel that I have to ensure that I am fully ready before I’m talked about for an international recall,’’ he added
