RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police have issued 38,330 challan tickets and imposed fine of Rs 1.464 million to violators of traffic laws.
Hundreds of vehicles and motorcycles have been impounded in different police stations for lack of proper documentation.
According to Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurrum Janbaz, the police issued 899 tickets to the owners of cars with tinted glass, besides removing the coloured papers.
The traffic police issued 558 tickets to the under age drivers.
The CTO said that a campaign had been launched against the mobile users while driving and issued 887 tickets.
The traffic police issued 6386 tickets to motorists for not having proper documentats, besides motorcyclists not using helmets. Similarly,6845 tickets were issued to the owners vehicles without number plates.
The traffic police also issued hundreds of challan tickets to the vehicles on overspeeding, wrong parking, route violation, without driving licence, misbehaviour, lane line and other violations.
