KARACHI: Close aide of former President Zardari and former petroleum minister Dr Asim Hussain has been handed over to the Rangers for 90 days, Aaj News reported.
He appeared in the anti-terrorism court for a hearing which lasted for about three minutes.
He entered the court premises guarded by a large number of Rangers personnel, but he was neither handcuffed nor was his face covered.
He has been alleged of issuing illegal petroleum licenses. Dr Asim was interrogated by intelligence agencies and then handed over to the Rangers in judicial custody.
Chairman Higher Education Commission Sindh was arrested yesterday from his office, where important documents leading to the allegation were also confiscated.
Dr Asim Hussain is also chancellor of Ziauddin University.
