Strict action against culprits involved in selling poisonous liquor

NAWABSHAH: Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad, Muhammad Nawaz Soho, has taken strict notice of deaths caused due to use of poisonous liquor and directed constitution of an inquiry team to look into the matter.

The team has been assigned to recommend action against manufacturers and sellers of illicit liquor as well as against medical stores selling toxic drugs.

Presiding over a meeting here Friday, the DC expressed grief over the deaths caused by use of poisonous liquor and termed the incident an eye opener.

He called for immediate action against the culprits playing with precious human lives.

The Excise and taxation officer (ETO) informed the meeting that the liquor was being prepared by mixing spirit and toxic drugs into water and on consumption it cause grave implications over human health leading to death.

The DC directed District Health Officer to take action against such medical store owners who were selling toxic drugs without prescription from doctor.

The DSP headquarters Yar Muhammad Rind informed that SHO B Section police station was suspended while crack down in coordination with excise police laws has been initiated against illicit wine sellers.
