Steps being taken to regulate flow of traffic: Commissioner

KARACHI: Steps are being taken to improve the flow of traffic in the metropolis.This was pointed out by the Commissioner of Karachi, Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui.

He was presiding over a meeting of the Traffic Management Board on Wednesday which reviewed measures taken for improving traffic in the city.

The meeting decided for a coordinated campaign against the fake and fancy number plates of the vehicles as well as tinted glasses.

The district administration would take steps for resolving the issue of parking yard for the vehicles impounded after action.

The meeting also considered steps for action against `illegal bus stands’ in the metropolis for buses coming from Balochistan as parking place have already been provided for these at Yousuf Goth and Baldia.

The meeting was informed about the traffic problems because of bus stands in Saddar, Mansfield Street, Shahrah-i-Iraq, Sohrab Goth, Lyari etc.

It was further pointed out that flow of traffic is impeded because of car show rooms in various areas of the city.
