KARACHI: After 2 months and 10 days of summer vacation, public and private schools in Karachi and across the Sindh province reopened today, Aaj News reported.
Owing to the threat of heavy floods and rainfall in the province, the Sindh government had extended summer vacations for all the schools and colleges by a week.
Earlier, all the educational institutions were to have resumed classes on August 3.
According to the Sindh Private Schools Owners Association, additional holidays make completion of courses difficult for the teachers. “Students were the ultimate sufferers because they were the ones denied of the opportunity to have adequate space and time to learn and understand the curriculum,” an added.
