Sindh Assembly passes resolution against Altaf Hussain

KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly has passed a resolution against MQM Chief Altaf Hussain’s remarks against state institutions.

The resolution demanded that Hussain be brought to Pakistan and tried for his statement.

The resolution was passed by Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, Pakistan Muslim League- Functional and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz. The resolution was read by Sheikh Jamoot and Samar Ali Khan.

The resolution said that MQM’s remarks against state institutions were an attempt to malign their sanctity. It further said that the party should not have asked helped from a foreign country. It also declared that Hussain was a state enemy.

While the resolution was being read out MQM parliamentarians raised hue and cry and criticized the resolution.

Earlier, a similar resolution was passed in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Assembly condemning Altaf Hussain’s statement which had called for the UN forces to come to Karachi and help its workers.
