ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain Sunday expressed his profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of Punjab Home Minister Colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada in a suicide attack in Attock.
He paid tribute to the unflinching resolve of late Shuja Khanzada in the fight against terrorists and said that the martyrdom of the Home Minister would not go in vain.
The nation would forever remember the commendable services rendered by the late Punjab minister for the cause of motherland, the President added.
He also extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for them to bear this loss with courage and fortitude, said a press release.
Strongly condemning the terrorist attack, the President emphasized that such cowardly attacks could not dent the determination of the people.
He reiterated the commitment that the whole nation stood united to eliminate the scourge of terrorism and extremism from the country.
The President also expressed condolences for the other people martyred in the blast and commiserated with the families of the deceased.
The President directed the authorities concerned to expedite the rescue efforts and provide the best medical treatment to the injured.
He also prayed for the salvation of the martyred souls.
