QUETTA: Prime Minister, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, laid foundation stone of three projects and inaugurated a project in the provincial capital here on Thursday.
The Prime Minister who arrived in Quetta on a day-long visit laid the foundation stone of the Mangi Dam, Balochistan Agriculture University Quetta and Samungli Road Flyover here at the Governor House Quetta.
Those present on the occasion included Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali, Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, Federal Minister for SAFFRON, Lt Gen (retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch, Commander Southern Command, Lt Gen Muhammad Nasser Khan Janjua and other ministers and senior civil and military officials.
The Prime Minister also inaugurated Sariab Phatak Flyover. Additional Chief Secretary Planning and Development Balochistan, Nasibullah Khan Bazai gave a briefing on the mega projects.
The Prime Minister and the Chief of Army Staff shook hands with provincial ministers and members of the Balochsitan Assembly and remained with them for some time.
Later, the Prime Minister presided over a meeting of the Apex Committee to review progress of implementation of National Action Plan.
He expressed his satisfaction over improvement of law and order in Balochistan, due to joint efforts of civil and military leadership.
The funds for three projects including Sariab Phatak Flyover, Mangi Dam and Samungli Road Flyover were provided by the federal government while the provincial government would provide funds for Balochistan Agriculture University Quetta.
The Sariab Phatak Flyover Quetta was completed at a cost of Rs 1581 million in four years.
An allocation Rs 4589.397 million has been earmarked for Balochsitan Agriculture University Quetta which will be completed in next three years. Mangi Dam will be provided Rs 9853 million funds and it would take 36 months to complete while Samungli Road Flyover Quetta will be completed at a cost of Rs 1499.225 million funds and would be completed within 24 months.
