ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday assured a delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) that their genuine concerns would be addressed and emphasized that across the board operation in Karachi was in the interest of all stakeholders including MQM.
The Prime Minister talking to a six-member MQM delegation here at the PM House told them that the peace in Karachi would bring prosperity for its citizens.
It would have impacts as a whole as people from all areas of the country work and live there, he added.
The Prime Minister said the MQM for the larger national interest might remain in the Parliament and play its role in the national affairs.
The MQM delegation presented to the Prime Minister their point of view on the Karachi operation, said a press release.Amir of JUI-F Maulana Fazal ur Rehman, MNA, Minister for Finance Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Minister for Housing and Works Akram Khan Durrani and Muhammad Ameer Zaman MNA attended the meeting on behalf of the government.
While the MQM delegation comprised Dr. Muhammad Farooq Sattar MNA, Senator Muhammad Ali Saif, Kanwar Naveed Jameel MNA, Muhammad Rehan Hashmi MNA, Waseem Akhtar ex-MNA and Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani attended the meeting.
