ISLAMABAD: Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani will inaugurate a revamped website of the Senate of Pakistan on Thursday in the Parliament House in line with his plan of making working of the Upper House more transparent.
He will also unveil a booklet on all the measures in Phase-I as well as an instructions manual on lodging Public Petitions, said a press release here on Wednesday.
Besides Chairman Senate Rabbani, the Leader of the House, Raja Zafarul Haq and parliamentary party leaders will be present in the ceremony. The new website has a whole set of new features to make the members more accountable to the people through facts about their salaries, privileges and attendance. It will enable the people to get first hand information about activities of the Upper House.
A manual in the shape of a booklet provides step-by-step instructions for filing Public Petitions, a process which allows ordinary citizens of the country to have direct access to the Senate and seek redressal of their grievances.
Chairman Senate will also speak on the measures adopted in Phase-I for the majesty and transparency in the Parliament.
The aim of all the initiatives is to enhance connectivity with general public and make the House accessible.
