NA-19 repoll underway

HARIPUR: Elections at NA-19, are underway though arrangements for the re-polling are still not satisfactory, Aaj News reported.

In some polling booths stamp paper and ink has still not reached, an Aaj News correspondent reported.

Meanwhile, separate tables for female voters have not been put up in some areas. Long queues of women can be seen outside polling stations who have not had a chance to vote yet.

This is the third time in two and a half years polls are being held in this constituency. The constituency was mainly a PML-N strong hold, but this time around the PTI has also filed candidates.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan had ordered re-election in NA-19 after PTI’s Raja Amir Zaman had challenged PML-N’s Umer Ayaub’s win in the 2013 general elections.

Babar Nawaz is the PML-N candidate from the constituency while Raja Amir Zaman is representing the PTI.
