PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani Monday said that steps introduced to use modern-day technology against terrorism and maintenance of law and order produced good results in different cases.
Addressing the function IGP Nasir Khan Durrani informed that computerized data about most of the crimes has been made available to all police which can be easily checked through modern gadgetry provided to the police.
He said that modern technology based policing has added to more professional and systematic policing in the province.
The IGP also appreciated the performance of investigation wing of the Swat police on awarding punishment to six terrorists from the relevant court.
According to details Swat police investigation wing had awarded different nature punishment to six terrorists from the Anti-Terrorist Court which included life imprisonment, 25 years rigorous imprisonment and confiscation of property.
From these terrorist the police had recovered 48 kilogram explosive materials, five hand grenade, 10 pistols and hate materials.
Likewise Swat police through modern technology based policing Swat police had checked more than five thousands persons through Identity Verification System (IVS) while Kohat police had checked more than four thousand people and Charsadda police two thousand people through Criminal Record Verification System (CRVS).
On this occasion the IGP awarded cash prizes and commendation certificates to SSP investigation Swat Gulzar, Inspector Afsar Zaman and ASI Batkht Rahman, Kohat police SPO Muhammad Umair Akhunzada and Charsadda police SPO Syed Adil Shah.
