KP Governor inaugurates FATA Tribunal


PESHWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has said that the non-existence of justice in the society has weakened the citizen state relationship and now the time has come to provide justice to the tribesmen at their door step.

He said the establishment of FATA tribunal was aimed at providing tribesmen with expeditious justice without any fear, adding the tribunal will facilitate speedy justice and it will strengthen the citizen-state relationship in FATA.

He said that prompt steps would be taken to empower Fata Tribunal for expeditious justice. He expressed these view while addressing the inauguration ceremony of the FATA tribunal here at Judicial Complex, Hayatabad in Peshawar on Wednesday. Besides, Chairman FATA tribunal, Sang-e-Marjan, Additional chief secretary FATA, Muhammad Aslam Kamboh, secretary law and order FATA, Shakeel Qadir, Secretary AI & C, Zaheerul Islam, judges, senior lawyers, members of High Court Bar Association, FATA Lawyers Forum and others were also present on this occasion.

The governor also launched the website of FATA tribunal where the complaints would be registered online.

Addressing the ceremony, the governor said we have paid a heavy price due to wrong decisions of past and now it is the need of an hour to take decisions for the betterment and welfare of the people at large.

The governor said the additional political agent judicial would be appointed in each agency in FATA to facilitate tribal people and speedy justice would be ensured.

He said that the Nation is united against terrorism and militancy and we are committed to root out terrorism from the country once for all. He said that we will not allow anyone to misuse the powers and will ensure the speedy justice without any discrimination.

He said the government was aware of the problems facing displaced persons and would use all available resources for their assistance, rehabilitation and dignified and speedy resettlement.

Sardar Mehtab said the rehabilitation was no doubt a great challenge but government would continue supporting TDPs until the rehabilitation of the last displaced person. He said that the reforms process would be completed and implemented soon as per the demands and traditions of tribal people and FRC would also be reviewed to provide the justice to tribesmen.
