Electoral challenge of Sadiq exposes conspiracy-ridden politics of PTI chief

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Saturday said electoral challenge of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has exposed conspiracy-ridden politics of Chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan, who opted for fleeing from the by-elections of the two constituencies.

In a statement, he said it is beyond comprehension that why Imran Khan was frightened of the voters of his home constituency of Zaman Park, Lahore.

Surprisingly enough, the minister said, Imran Khan even didn’t honour his pledge and claims, made before people atop of the container last year, which is manifest from his fleeing of the electoral arena.

He said the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N has already decided to contest the by-elections in the light of the verdict of Election Tribunal.

The party has announced the names of its candidates, whereas Imran Khan has yet to finalise only two candidates for this election, he added.

He said any decent person would be reluctant to contest by-elections on the ticket of PTI, due to Imran Khan’s persistent criticism of development of Lahore and in the face of government’s endeavours to improve living standards of residents of provincial capital.

He said how a person, who criticized development projects in Lahore, could now ask people to vote for him. Imran Khan himself was fleeing from facing PML-N candidate in the by-elections.

The minister said a claimant of ending the politics of fear has now himself preferred to sit at home due to fear of impending defeat.

He said in such circumstances genuine political workers cannot contest the by-elections on PTI’s tickets, however some rejected politicians could apply for the tickets.
