Defence minister visits border village

SIALKOT: Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif visited border village Kundanpur along the Sialkot Working Boundary here Sunday.

The minister distributed the financial compensation cheques of Rs.0.5 million among the Indian shelling victims families of  the eight martyred persons. MNA Ch.Armughan Subhani, Commissioner Gujranwala Division Shamail Ahmed Khawaja, Sialkot DCO Dr.Asif  Tufail and MPAs Ch.Muhammad Ikram and Mansha Ullah Butt were also present.

On this occasion, Khawaja Asif expressed solidarity with the affected villagers, besides paying rich tributes to their resilience and spirits.

Later talking to media, the minister said that Armed forces would defend every inch of their motherland at every cost. He said India’s real face is exposing as it is supporting terrorism in Pakistan and creating tension on borders through unprovoked firing along the working boundary and line of control.

The minister said if India tried to impose war on Pakistan, heavy losses will be inflicted on India which it will remember for decades.

Khawaja Asif said that India is diverting attention from its internal failures by creating tension on the borders.

He said that the entire nation stands united along with the armed forces of Pakistan while defending the Motherland.

Meanwhile, DCO Dr. Asif Tufail told that the Punjab government had provided financial compsation to all the injured persons admitted at Sialkot Combine Military Hospital (CMH). He said that fincial compensation cehques were also handed over to all the 38 injured persons at CMH.

They were injured by unpoovoked mortar shelling by Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) on Sialkot border villages along the Sialkot Woking Boundary here on August 28, the DCO added.
