ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Wednesday informed National Assembly that the government had set December 31 last date for renewal of arms licences.
The minister said, no arms licences will be renewed after December 31 and all such expired licences after the last date, would stand canceled.
The minister asked the provincial governments to extend full cooperation in this regard as it was the matter of ‘national security.’
In the past, he said, some non-Pakistanis and other applicants had managed to get licences by submitting false data. So, under the renewal drive, the society would be purged of all such elements.
Nisar said the federal government was ready to open centers for renewal of licenses to facilitate the people across the country.
