COAS approves increase in number of military courts in Karachi

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday approved increase in number of military courts in Karachi to handle outstanding cases relating to terrorism.

According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army Chief, who visited Army Air Defence center at Malir Cantt, Karachi, was briefed on latest security and law and order situation in the mega city. He was briefed about training activities at the Center.

He commended all ranks of Rangers, Police and intelligence agencies, particularly the support of the people of Karachi.

He said across the board operation in Karachi will continue to eliminate terrorists, criminals, mafia from the city. This will help significantly improve the security environment.

He directed to break evil nexus between terrorists, criminal mafia, violence and corruption to ensure peaceful and terror-free Karachi.

The COAS also pinned badges of rank on shoulders of Lieutenant Gen Zamir Ul Hassan Shah, Adjutant General Pakistan Army to formally install him as Col. Commandant of Army Air Defence.

General Raheel Sharif addressed all officers and men of the Garrison.
