CM orders to remain alert against dengue

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Thursday ordered all departments and institutions concerned to remain alert to cope  with the dengue virus.

In a statement here, he directed that all out measures should be taken in Lahore, Rawalpindi besides other cities for eradicating dengue and effective implementation of the plan evolved for this purpose should be ensured.

He said that no laxity or negligence would be tolerated in this regard to implementation of the plan evolved for coping with dengue, therefore, federal and provincial departments and administration should make collective efforts and play an active role for overcoming this menace.

The CM directed the Cabinet Committee on Dengue to work in a coordinated manner and paid full attention to indoor and outdoor surveillance while drainage of water from low-lying areas should be ensured.
