AJK PM distributes relief cheques among affectees of Indian firing

MIRPUR: Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister on Saturday distributed the relief cheques among affectees of frequent unprovoked Indian firing at the Line of Control (LoC) in Nikayal sector in Kotli district.

He said that AJK government would take all possible measures to ensure safety and protection of the lives and properties of the forward areas population.

The AJK PM called on the United Nations Organization (UNO) to take notice of the frequent unprovoked firing by Indian troops from across the LoC to ensure safety of the life and property, in areas close to the Line of Control LoC in Azad Jammu Kashmir.

He announced to take immediate measures for protection of the population that included construction of Pucca bunkers close to houses and residential buildings, located along the LoC.

It will enable local dwellers to take immediate shelter during the unprovoked Indian firing, he added.

He said mobile health squads are also being deputed in targeted areas on the LoC to ensure timely medical aid to the victims.

The AJK Prime Minister earlier visited the Indian-firing hit population in the forward villages, close to this side of the LoC in Nikayal sector. He also consoled with the affectees of unprovoked Indian firing.

He also expressed sympathies with the bereaved families of the martyrs and prayed for the early recovery of those who were injured in the Indian firing.
