AJK Assembly condemns Indian violation of ceasefire on LoC

MUZAFFARABAD: Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Assembly on Monday strongly condemned gross violation of ceasefire along Line of Control (LOC) and working Boundary by Indian forces and urged federal government to raise the issue at international fora.

A special session of the Legislative Assembly, convened on requisition of the opposition to discuss the issue, passed resolution unanimously tabled by opposition leader Raja Farooq Haider Khan and Ministers Chaudhary Latif Akbar, Azhar Gilani, Matloob Inqlabi, Mehar-un-Nisa, Sardar Mir Akbar Khan, Yaseen Gulshan and Sardar Farooq Tahir.

The joint resolution said the indiscriminate Indian firing on LoC had inflicted miseries on the people of Azad Kashmir living in 12 constituencies of AJK Assembly located along the LoC, in terms of loss of lives and property.
