836 relief camps established in flood hit areas: NDMA

ISLAMABAD: Some 836 relief camps have been set up in various areas of the country for flood hit people.

According to National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), over 306,885 persons are housed in the flood relief camps.

And 150 medical camps are also working in various affected areas to provide relief to the marooned people. Total 1,478,436 persons have been affected by the floods, 1,197,932 of them evacuated from their areas. As many as persons have lost their lives and 183 sustained injuries while 23,924 houses damaged in 3,932 affected villages.

As many as 110,327 tents, 5,303.81 ton ration, 6,500 tarpaulins and 10,197 blankets have been distributed in flood hit areas.
