KARACHI: Rabta Committee Member, Qamar Mansoor, and In charge of Rabita Committee Kaiful-Wara, were taken into custody during the raid by Rangers on Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall near Nine Zero Thursday night, Aaj News reported.
During the raid two more members, Azeem Farooqi and Sufiyan Yousuf, were taken also taken into custody but they were allowed to go after interrogation.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) spokesperson, Wasay Jalil, acknowledged the arrest made in the raid at the Khursheed Begum Memorial Hall, which is the strong-hold area of MQM. He said in his tweet that the raid was made without a search warrant.
All the exits of the area were sealed during the raid by rangers. Eight Rangers vehicles were used in the search operation.
The people taken into custody are shifted to unknown place for further investigation.
Over two dozen cases of hate speech have been registered against Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain all over Sindh for inciting hate speech, Aaj News reported on Tuesday.
Cases against the party chief had been registered in Jacobabad, Khairpur, Larkana, Matiari, Hala, Hyderabad and Karachi.
According to an FIR, Altaf Hussain made provocative speeches against a security agency, a private TV channel reported. FIRs were registered against the MQM chief in three police stations of Jacobabad. A citizen, Abdul Khaliq, registered an FIR against Altaf Hussain in Airport police station.
The cases had been registered by civilians for bashing the armed forces and the FIA.
