LAHORE: The Punjab Food Authority has now sealed kitchens of four star hotels in the city. In a recent raid they imposed fine on five restaurants in Avari and Pearl Continental hotels.
The PFA imposed Rs25000 fine on a bakeryat Pearl Continental for using misbranded jams, expired cake sponge, dirty hot plate, and un-labelled food flavours and essences.
Kitchens of Dumpukht restaurant were fined for Rs25000 for using poor sanitation.
While the exotic Japanese restaurant was sealed for lack of hand sanitizer and detergent in the dish washer.
Earlier, fines were imposed on two restaurants of Avari Towers– a four start hotel in the city. The hotel’s bakery was fined for Rs25000 for use of improper storage inside chillers.
The kitchens of the hotel’s Chinese restaurant Dynasty was imposed a Rs25000 fine for improper storage and messy stoves.
Recently, the PFA has also sealed branches of global franchises such as Hardee’s and Gloria Jeans.
