ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain Thursday urged the authorities concerned to improve the quality of healthcare services in the hospitals of Islamabad.
Chairing a high level meeting to review provision of healthcare services in the federal capital here at Aiwan-e-Sadr, the President emphasized to improve standard of hygiene and cleanliness at hospitals for safety of patients.
Barrister Usman Ibrahim, Minister of State, Capital Administration and Development Division gave a comprehensive briefing to the President regarding health service delivery in the hospitals of Islamabad.
The President called for improving the quality of services in the hospitals including PIMS within the available resources and stressed that a modern mechanism should be put in place for disposal of used syringes.
He urged effective steps and prompt action to improve the existing state of affairs in public sector hospitals in the capital in coordination with all concerned departments.
President Mamnoon also directed to form a spot checking committee to inspect the provision of facilities and quality drugs in hospitals, and behaviour of the staff with the patients.
The meeting was attended by Barrister Usman Ibrahim, Minister of State, Capital Administration and Development Division, Member National Assembly Zeb Jaffar, Khalid Hanif, Secretary CADD, Dr. Javed Akram, Vice Chancellor Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University and high officials of the President’s Secretariat.
