ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday expressed his grief and sorrow over the loss of life and property due to floods in Chitral, triggered by recent rainfall.
The Prime Minister intended to visit the flood affected areas in Chitral on Tuesday but was stuck in Lahore due to inclement weather.
He will visit Chitral as soon as the weather clears.
The Prime Minister has instructed the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) to reinforce relief and rescue efforts in coordination with Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) and other departments concerned.
The NDMA has already started its activities in the flood-hit areas.
The Prime Minister also directed the National Highway Authority (NHA) to keep N-45 open, linking Chitral with the national road network.
