CHACHRAN: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Friday assured the flood affected people that the government would provide all resources for their relief and rehabilitation.
Addressing a gathering of the flood-affected people here, he said he rushed to visit them as soon as knew about the flooding in the area to make sure that effective measures were in place.
Nawaz Sharif said Chief Minister Punjab would also visit them soon and ensure that proper relief and rehabilitation efforts are underway.
He directed the DCO and other local officials to ensure that all necessary measures are taken. He said an amount of Rs 4 crore has been allocated for sewerage lines in the area.
He hoped the people displaced due to the rising waters would be able to return to their homes soon. He said water in the river was now back to normal and assured that the damage incurred would be compensated.
He thanked Allah Almighty that no precious lives were lost, nor there was any loss of livestock.
The Prime Minister also visited the medical camp set up for the affected people and directed proper care.
