KARACHI: The Met Office on Friday forecast more widespread rain-thundershowers for nearly entire country from Saturday to Sunday.
Rain at scattered places is also likely in Sibbi, Zhob, Kalat, Nasirabad, Sukkur and Larkana divisions during the period. The office said that scattered heavy falls were also expected in Kashmir, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore and Hazara divisions.
Partly cloudy/cloudy/humid and windy weather with chances of light rain/drizzle during night/ morning has been forecast for Karachi during the next 24 hours. Temperature is expected to remain between 33 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius with 65-75 percent humidity. Heat index is expected at 39 degrees.
Sibbi was the hottest place in the country with 45 degrees followed by Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Dalbandin, Nokkundi, Rohri, Sukkur and Larkana 44 degrees each and Moenjodaro 43 degrees in the last 24 hours.
Kotli received 83mm rainfall in the last 24 hours, Sialkot Cantonment 54mm, Jhelum 45mm, Rawalpindi 41mm, Balakot 39mm, Rawalakot 38mm, Sialkot 38mm, Mangla 35mm, Muzaffarabad 34mm, Islamabad ZP 32mm, Kakul 26mm, Gujranwala 21mm, Mandibahauddin 20mm, Kohat 17mm, Garhi Dupatta 16mm, Lower Dir 16mm and Gujrat 15mm.
“Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan with its rough extending southeastwards. Monsoon currents are penetrating into central and upper parts of the country and likely to continue during the next two days. A shallow westerly wave is prevailing upper parts of the country and likely to persist during the next 24 hours to 36 hours,” the office said.
