WEB DESK: Apple has announced a tiny change in its keyboard that users have been begging for.
The electronics giants have altered the on-screen keyboard so when shift is pressed – the letters will appear in upper or lower case.
It signals the end of the frustrating dilemma for fans of the devices who would forget if they left their caps lock on – which meant they would have to check before typing.
The change will save time writing text messages and stop users having to repeatedly press the button to get the case they want.
The update was revealed during the release of a new beta for the iOS 9 operating system for iPads and iPhones.
It was one of the biggest pleas by gadget lovers when iOS7 and iOS8 were in the works, but developers never incorporated the idea.
Before, the shift key arrow would only turn black or gray to let you know if you were typing in capital or lowercase letters, leaving users confused.
On a normal keyboard, you hold shift down to get a capital letter, or simply press the Caps Lock button.
But on older Apple software, the cases could be changed with one touch, a flaw many have tried to find a solution for.
It is not a problem for Android users as the letters automatically change on the device if you want to write in upper or lower case.
