KARACHI: Abdul Sattar Edhi, head of the Edhi Foundation, came out on the streets to raise funds for victims of the heatwave that took over 1200 lives in the city, Aaj News reported.
The number of people killed by the heatwave was more than any killed in a lone terrorism incident in the country.
As different politician from several parties came to visit heat stroke patient no government official took the responsibility of death by this natural disaster.
“It’s an astonishing fact that Pakistan is the only country in which the citizens bail out the government, instead of the other way around,” said Bina Shah a column she wrote for a newspaper.
Rangers and Pakistan Army established relief camps to assist heat stroke patients. Different individual citizens also came out on roads with water bottles to help victims of the heat wave in Karachi.
