LAHORE: Federal Minister for Information Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Sunday said that the statements of Tariq Mir and Muhammad Anwar were a black stain on the face of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
Talking to a private TV channel, he said Tariq Mir had put the MQM in trouble. He added that so many days have passed but nobody from MQM tried to make clarifications.
Earlier, it was revealed that a Mir, a senior leader of the party has confessed to the London police that the MQM had received funding from India to run operations in Pakistan.
Altaf Hussain, MQM cheif is currently being investigated by the Scotland Yard on charges of money laundering after the murder of its leader Imran Farooq in London.
He said that now it was the responsibility of the MQM to clarify the allegations, adding that if the MQM wanted to maintain its vote bank it has to prove all the allegations wrong.
He said that the Scotland Yard has been contacted for the evidences while allegations were also being examined after which law will take its due course.
Commenting on Tahir-ul-Qadri, he said that Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief should learn lesson from his previous mistakes.
Regarding Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the minister said that it was the decision of the PPP to appoint any person for any slot. Expressing good wishes for Bilwal, he said that his family had rendered many sacrifices.
He further said electricity load shedding has reduced to 6 to 8 hours and the government had increased the electricity production from 12000 MW to 16000 MW.
Commenting on India, the minister said that only peace can bring prosperity in the region as wars only bring destruction.
