KARACHI: A police man escaped a second attack on his life on Saturday, Aaj News reported.
SSP Rao Anwar was attacked when his convoy was passing through Malir. Anwar escaped unscathed while the four alleged terrorists who attacked him have been killed.
According to Anwar he was already informed of the attack. As his convoy left from Malir Cantt a car and motorcyclist started chasing him. The policemen in his convoy signalled them to stop.
In response the four alleged terrorist opened fire at the convoy. In self defencepolice shot down the four terrorist. A car, a motorcycle and weapons were confiscated from the alleged dead terrorists.
This is not the first time SSP Rao has been attacked. In April 2012, when he was making his way to the Malir court for, a suicide bomber hit his APC. The attack left five people dead and injured 18 others, but SSP Rao survived.
At the site of the Safoora Bus attack, pamphlets left behind by the terrorists threatened Anwar for arresting Al-Qaeda suspects at Kemari Town.
Anwar was also part of a heated controversy, when he conducted a press conference against the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, alleging it to have connections with Indian spy agency, Raw.
