KARACHI: A medical camp established at the Sindh police’s hospital in Garden area here is providing medical facilities to the heatwave affectees.
An official said here on Saturday that the camp was established on June 22 on the directives of Sindh Home Minister, Sohail Anwar Sial.
He said that since then medical care has been provided to more than 130 affectees of heat stroke.
The Home Minister directed that best possible medical care be made available.
He said heat stroke medical camp be also established at police hospital Hyderabad and presence of required number of doctors and paramedical staff be ensured.
The Home Minister also called for initiating an awareness campaign among the people for prevention from heat stroke.
Such a drive be started in collaboration with the concerned organizations, he added.
Meanwhile, a city NGO- SADA Welfare on Saturday distributed more than 2,000 bottles of clean drinking water among the patients admitted at the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) Karachi as well as the families and attendants.
A spokesman of the Foundation said that ORS packets were also distributed.
He said that more water and ORS packets would be distributed on Monday as well.
