KARACHI: Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Lt Gen (Retd) Abdul Qadir Baloch and State Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination Saira Afzal Tarar, on the directives of the Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, visited different hospitals in the metropolis to enquire the health of heatstroke patients, here on Friday.
During their visits to hospitals, they met heatstroke patients individually and enquired about their health. They also enquired the health of the patients from doctors present there.
Doctors apprised them of the present health position of various patients under going treatment in hospitals and said the situation was under control now.
While talking to APP, the State Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination, Saira Afzal Tarar said that they had reached Karachi on the directives of the Prime Minister to enquire the health of the patients and provide them best medical treatment.
She said that all sorts of assistance would be provided to the provincial government to cope with the lethal heatwave in the mega city and other parts of the province.
Replying to a question she said that cause of the deaths did not include only load shedding which remained more in the past years than at present.
She pointed out that there were also other factors including the scorching heat and the holy month in which mostly people avoid to go to outside.
She said a comprehensive course of action had to be prepared to prevent such situation in future.
The ministers also directed doctors to provide best medical treatment to heatwave patients.
