KARACHI: Blaming K-Electric is not the solution of the problem, said Leader of the Opposition, Khursheed Shah in the National Assembly on Wednesday, Aaj News reported.
Holding the incumbent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government responsible for the deaths, Shah said, “The government has failed to fulfill its promises to provide electricity to the people during Ramzan.”
To provide welfare to the people is the first responsibility of the government, and now the government should apologize to the families whose loved ones lost their lives in the severe heat wave.
While sharing his views in the National Assembly, Khursheed Shah said that to blame KE is not the solution of the problem.
“Who is responsible for the deaths took place in Sindh during the last five days?” he asked.
Shah further said, “Yes, I am speaking the truth and no one has the right to threaten me over my words”
He disagreed from the statement of Defence Minister Khwaja Asif who previously claimed the federal government is not responsible for the power shortfall in Karachi.
“Everyone should pay their electricity bills. And if anyone is stealing electricity, whether it’s me or some other politician, action should be taken against them,” Shah said.
