KARACHI: Javed Miandad, former batsman will celebrate his 58th birthday today, Aaj News Reported.
Miandad was born in Karachi on June 12, 1957. He made his international debut in 1975. Soon he became an inevitable part of the Pakistani batting line up.
In 1986 legendary batsman did the unthinkable in the final match against arch rivals India where he struck a six on the last ball to win that match for Pakistan.
He also played a vital role in the 1992 world cup. Miandad proved to be a true veteran when he played long innings in the semi-final and final of the World Cup.
He was also the first player who represented Pakistan in six consecutive World Cups.
The legendary batsman took retirement from cricket after the 1996 World Cup.
