ISLAMABAD: A two-member investigation team of the Scotland Yard along with six-member technical team will investigate Moazzam Ali Khan, the main accused in Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr Imran Farooq murder case.
Sources said that the two-member investigation team of the Scotland Yard including Stuart Michael Greenaway and David Jonathan Tan reached Islamabad Monday while six-member technical team had arrived in the Capital Saturday last.
The team is scheduled to grill Moazzam Ali, the main suspect in Dr Imran murder case as well as hold meetings with the senior officials of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the Ministry of Interior,” they said, adding that the FIA officials investigating the case will also brief the Scotland Yard team regarding the investigations and the information obtained from suspected killers.
They said the law enforcement agencies have shifted key suspect Moazzam Ali to Islamabad from Karachi. Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on June 23 announced that the government has decided to give access to British investigation authorities to the key suspects of the case.
Moazzam was arrested by Rangers at Karachi two months ago while two accused Mohsin Ali and Khalid Shamim were arrested by Frontier Corps at Pak-Afghan border.
