The rupee moved slightly against the dollar on the money market on Friday in the process of trading, they said. The rupee shed one-paisa in relation to the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 102.00 and Rs 102.02 respectively, they said.
INTERBANK MARKET RATES: OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee did not fluctuate against the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 103.50 and Rs 103.70 respectively, but it failed to retain its firmness against the euro, losing 50-paisa for buying and selling at Rs 113.50 and Rs 114.50 respectively, they added.
In the final Asian trade, the dollar edged down in Asian trading, taking a breather from this week’s rally that brought it to its highest levels against the yen since 2002 on growing expectations that the US Federal Reserve would raise interest rates this year. Market participants said the dollar’s recent ascent had caught some investors off guard and their efforts to cover their positions was likely to keep the dollar supported, even with possible risks from US jobs data at the end of next week. The dollar was trading against the Indian rupee at Rs 63.73, the greenback was at 3.6535 in terms of the Malaysian ringgit and the US currency was at 6.200 versus the Chinese yuan.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The rupee showed stability and stayed unchanged against the dollar on the local currency market on Friday.
The dollar hardly witnessed any change in its demand and supply during the day and was traded at its overnight closing of Rs 103.70 and Rs 103.95 on buying and selling side. The rupee continued rising and further appreciated its worth against the pound sterling whose buying and selling rates were further declined from the Thursday closing of Rs 159.10 and Rs 159.60 to Rs 157.30 and Rs 159.30.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged on the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Friday.
The dollar opened at Rs 101.75 (buying) and Rs 101.85 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 101.75 (buying) and Rs 101.85 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 155 (buying) and Rs 155.50 (selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 155 (buying) and Rs 155.50 (selling).
