LAHORE: In the first one day international at Gaddafi Stadium Zimbabwe lost against Pakistan, Aaj news reported.
On the first day and night ODI match Pakistan won the toss and selected to bat first and scored 375 runs in 50 overs with the lost of three wickets.
Mohamad Hafeez and Azhar Ali gave the green shirts a solid opening partnership of 170 runs. Hafeez scored 86 runs of just 83 while Ali scored 79 runs of 76 balls.
Shoaib Malik started his ODI return with a boom as he scored 112 runs of just 76 balls, Haris Sohail scored 89 runs of 66 balls.
In reply Zimbabwe had a slow start as they lost two wickets on the total of 65. Chigumbura scored 177 runs on 95 balls while Masakadza scored 73 runs of 73 balls. No other player from the guest were able to threaten the Pakistani team.
After a good contest Pakistan was able to win the match by just 41 runs. Zimbabwe scored 334 runs in 50 overs.
Wahab Riaz took three wickets in ten overs giving away only 47 runs. Malik and Anwar Ali both got one wicket.
Malik was awarded player of the match.
The next ODI will be played on May 29.
