RAWALPINDI: Mian Muhammad Bukhsh Trust (MMBT) organized scholarship awarding ceremony at Bukhsh Hospital to encourage and support less resourced bright students from both boys and girls schools at Dhanyala (Jehlum).
According to a press release here on Thursday, the Trust gave away 73 uniforms and 13 scholarship cheques to the students hailing from the downtrodden communities.
The scholarship distribution ceremony was attended among others by the trustees of MMBT, Schools councils, Ashraf Chughtai from UK, Shabir Ahmed from Canada, Ch Shareef from UK, Ch Mohammed Pervez from UK, Ch Ghulam Ahmed Zammurd Yaqoob Ex Tahseel Nazim Jhelum, Ch Zaheer Abbas from Noor Jamal Gujrat, local residents and students.
The MMBT Chairman thanked all the participants for attending the ceremony and efforts of everyone involved to organize this ceremony. He emphasized that there is more need to promote noble causes like education and health.
He urged the philanthropists to come forward and donate more funds towards promotion of education and health projects in the far-flung and less developed areas of the district. He urged the local populace to stop wasting their resources on useless activities like, dog fights, horse race and bull fight.
Ghazanfar Ikram teacher from Government Elementary School Dhanyala thanked MMBT for organizing the event and encouraging the students.
