Firmness prevailed on the money market on Thursday as the rupee managed to hold the present levels versus the dollar in the process of trading, dealers said.
INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: The rupee inched up by two-paisa in relation to the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 101.93 and Rs 101.95 respectively, they said.
OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee sustained overnight levels versus the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 102.40 and Rs 102.60 respectively, the said.
The rupee extended overnight gains against the euro, picking up 55-paisa for buying and selling at Rs 110.25 and Rs 110.05 respectively, they said
In the fourth Asian trade, the dollar touched a one-week high, having enjoyed another leg up after two influential Federal Reserve officials kept alive expectations for a hike in interest rates sometime this year. The greenback was available against the Indian rupee at Rs 62.23, the dollar was at 3.6275 in terms of Malaysian ringgit and the US currency was trading versus the Chinese yuan at 6.2052.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee depreciated its worth against the US dollar on the local currency markets on Thursday.
Currency dealers said the dollar commenced trading at its day earlier closing of Rs 102.25 and Rs 102.50 as its buying and selling rate, respectively. Due to fresh buying activity, the dollar improved to Rs 102.60 and Rs 102.85 on buying and selling side, respectively.
On the other hand, the rupee recovered its earlier loss against the pound sterling. The pound was purchased and sold at Rs 151.40 and Rs 151.65 compared with Wednesday closing of Rs 151.50 and Rs 151.75, respectively.
RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The rupee-dollar parity remained unchanged on the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Thursday.
The dollar opened at Rs 101.75 (buying) and Rs 101.85 (selling) against same last rate. It did not observe further change in the second session and closed at Rs 101.75 (buying) and Rs 101.85 (selling).
Pound Sterling opened at Rs 155 (buying) and Rs 155.50 (selling) against same overnight value. It did not observe further change in the evening session and closed at Rs 155 (buying) and Rs 155.50 (selling).
