SUKKUR: One-day national seminar on the role of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in national and international politics was held at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU), Khairpur on Friday.
It was organized by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair.
Addressing the seminar, MNA Dr Nafisa Shah called April 4 as the black day.
Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto struggled for the survival of Pakistan and redirected the foreign policy of Pakistan, she said.
Ms Shah said security agenda and new Pakistan were his priorities adding that during his tenure, Bhutto tried to make Pakistan as nuclear state. His policies were public based, she added.
Senator Jehangir Bader termed politics as sciences of masses and said Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto firmly believed in people’s politics and said that Bhutto`s politics was welfare oriented, though he was feudal in character but also a well-educated person.
Senator Jahangir said on June 21, 1966, he left the cabinet of General Ayoub Khan and joined the politics of masses.
He received rousing response from across the society.
VC SALU Dr Parveen Shah, Additional Advocate General (Retired), Habibullah Shakir, human rights activist Asif Khan, Adviosr to Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Chair SALU, Nazar Mohammad Gaho, Dr. Amir Ahmed Khuhro and Prof Dr Najma Noor Phulpoto aslo spoke on the occasion.
