ISLAMABAD: the National Logistics Cell (NLC), the contractor of Metro Bus Service (MBS) Package-II is committed to completing elevated track and reconstruction of the Murree road from Sixth road to Committee Chowk on time, said Package-II Site Chief Malik Muhammad Arif.
“The construction work on the western side of Metro Bus Service (MBS), package-II project is being completed on war-footing with the deployment of additional workforce,” he said during a visit to the site.
He said the eastern side of Committee Chowk to Sixth Road section of Metro Bus Service (MBS) Package-II project on Murree Road had been opened for the traffic after reconstruction and carpeting.
“Our assignment has entered the final phase as we have completed over 97 per cent construction work at the site,” he claimed.
The Package-II engineers, he said had completed the first Metro Bus terminal at the Chandni Chowk using modern techniques, designs and equipping it with latest facilities. “The construction of international standard is being maintained in the project,” he added.
Malik said the entire civil work at the Package-II site had also been completed, while a full-strength work force had been deployed for asphalt at various sections of the main Murree road. “Over 80 per cent work on drains and medians has also been completed at the places from where the civic bodies have shifted their utility services at the alternate site,” he said.
