ISLAMABAD: For launching a probe into the alleged rigging in the General Elections of 2013, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) finally affixed their signatures on an agreement over formation of the proposed Judicial Commission (JC).
While addressing a press conference, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar flanked by PTI leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Jehangir Tarin, said efforts will be made to issue the presidential ordinance that would pave way for constitution of the JC.
Dar represented the government’s side in the conference, lauded the endeavours of the Jirga for evolving an understanding between the government and PTI.
Qureshi said that the findings of the commission’s investigation into the alleged rigging of 2013 polls would help introduce reforms in the electoral process. It is pertinent to mention here that the agreement was signed, from the government’s side, by Dar, and by Tarin from PTI’s side.
