RAWALPINDI: Crackdown on dealers and traders allegedly involved in sale of substandard and expired medicines, has been launched in the city.
This was decided in a meeting here on Friday, chaired by Executive District Officer (Health) Dr Kahlid Randhawa.
Deputy Drug Controller Gujar Khan Jawad Ahsan, Deputy Drug Controller Kalar Syedan Rao Abdul Hameed, Drug Inspector Attock Adnan Aslam Chaudhry, Drug Inspector Kotli Sattian Malik Rashid, Drug Inspector Murree Umer Zaib Abbasi, Drug Inspector Kahuta Kamran Nawaz and Madhia Khalid has been assigned the duty to check the sale of medicines in the open market.
Talking to APP, EDO Dr khalid Randhawa said that teams have been constituted to keep a check on such illegal activity.
He said those elements did not deserve any leniency and strict action would be taken against them.
Dr. Khalid said that provision of medical facilities to the people was prime mission of the government. He urged the people to check the expiry date while purchasing medicines and identify these elements so that a legal action be initiated and cases under Drug Act 1976 be registered against drug sellers.
