ISLAMABAD: Shafqat Hussain the Death row inmate has requested the Islamabad high court (IHC) to set up a judicial inquiry to decide his age, Aaj News reported.
Jusitce Athar Minallah will hear the case at the IHC today. Shafqat was arrested in 2004 for kidnapping and homicide of 7 years old boy, who was a resident in Karachi.
Shafqat’s date of birth still remain a mystery as he was sentenced to death in 2004 when he was not of a lawful age.
His appeals were rejected by all courts, including the Supreme Court, until President Mamnoon Hussain put his execution on hold for 30 days on March 18.
As the 30 days limit expires today, Shafqat seeks the IHC to determine his age by a conducting a judicial inquiry.
